Established in 2006, the New York State Grid (NYSGrid) is a collaboration among New York institutions to create an advanced technological infrastructure that will strengthen research and education capabilities across the State. Members are combining resources and IT expertise to develop a shared, scalable infrastructure with the goal of offering near-seamless access to distributed resources. In addition to grid computing, members will have access to high performance computers, specialized scientific and engineering datasets, storage and visualization resources, and collaborative opportunities.
NYSGrid is a grassroots, user-driven initiative, open to all New York institutions. NYSERNet provides an administrative home for NYSGrid.
